Rebecca and Simone Totti, owners of La Strada, came upon a pivotal turning point in their lives and relationship. After 4 years of living together in Italy and dreaming of owning a business together, they decided that Los Angeles, Rebecca's hometown, could be a great place to nurture this dream.
Not wanting to lose the Italian culture and experience that they had lived in and grown to love, they decided to take that experience and build it into their business in Los Angeles , not only to preserve it for themselves but also to share it with the community. Thus, La Strada was born.
La Strada's roots began in 2004 with the purchase of The International Deli in the heart of the Brentwood Village. Rebecca and Simone felt that the Brentwood Village was one of the only locations they had come across in Los Angeles which was similar to that of a small Italian neighborhood. This, combined with the size of the location, made it the perfect fit to begin their dream.
Luckily for Simone and Rebecca, The International Deli already had a loyal and established clientele, which warmly welcomed them into the neighborhood and were eager to see what Italian influences Simone would bring to the establishment.
And so they began: first with hot Italian specialties - personal favorites of Simone's, then by introducing Italy 's premiere Italian coffee, Illy caffe'. Last, but certainly not least, the introduction of an extensive menu of traditional Panini sandwiches.
In addition to this, La Strada offers gourmet Italian gift baskets for all occasions in many different sizes, as well as an in store variety of imported Italian sweets and delicacies. Along with these changes, La Strada has carried over the traditional favorites of the many successful years as The International Deli.
Simone and Rebecca hope that as a customer of La Strada you will not only enjoy the traditional Italian menu items but also the spirit of Italy that they have incorporated into La Strada through music, photos and a general feeling of “Spirito Italiano”.
